Except for us Dutchies..no we have Queensday with should be on 30st of April.. but because ist a friggin sunday the moved it to guess wot...SATURDAY... WTF is wrong with lets say tommorow..(1st of may)

very exiting times.. im up in nerves about our house and all.
Think this is another mile stone in my life. something like past childhood flying out kinda. and im ready for it as i was ready for all previous mile stones. I hope i'll be ready for the next one, whatever that will be?

PS...I always come with the best ideas when im awake during the night. So I statred a new long term photographic theme.. i have shot two rolls today and i wiil reveal more later on.. but i wanna give it some time first.

New years resolutions

This year I cant help to look back over the last few year. Lots of stuff changed. Like me graduating and finding a job, having Diabetes for a year now, hearing about Vince his plans of moving to Japan, adding Smuss to my friends list, birth of Barry’s daughter Gigi (barry features in a lot of my pictures), really planning on moving out, Sharon finding a decent job, stuff back to normal in at my parents house, adding marc to my friends list, discovering techno, My first humble LOMO exposition, and meeting a lot of cool/new people in my life.

Looking forward I don’t see a black hole at this moment which I couldn’t say a year ago. Life is moving on and for once not passing me by. I’m in control. Next year is going to be good. Although a human doesn’t like changes, I’m looking forward to the once that are coming. Like moving out.

Stuff I wanna do next year:

Go Visit Xbalboax in NY

Go to several house parties

Finding a place to live

Shoot a lot of pictures

Go to beer fest in Munich and/or Stuttgart

Start again on my book

Learn German (I’m really planning on following some sort of course)

Living more healthy, planning in losing some weight.

Smokers / Non-smokers

Nowadays it seems that there are two kinds of people at parties, The ones that smoke and the once that don’t smoke. And its either a smoking party or a non smoking party. Yesterday I was defiantly at a smoking party. I cant believe how much a human can smoke. Lets start saying I’m a weekend/ evening smoker. Addicted probably yes. Do I smoke a lot defiantly no. do I tend to smoke more at parties honestly the opposite. Yesterday I might have smoked two cigarettes because everybody else was smoking for me.. I really felt bad after awhile inhaling all the damps. My throat is still a little sore.

On the other hand you have the non smoking parties.. you know the houses where they just don’t have an ash tray, to give you a hint in advanced. Those parties I don’t smoke, because you always get “the reaction” when you come back inside the room from you cold outside smoking break. The reaction is also know by the smoker as the interrogation minutes. They speak to you and ask you those sneaky questions to make themselves look good for stopping. Its not the fact that somebody doesn’t want you to smoke in there house. I wouldn’t if I was a non smoker. Well I think I just don’t smoke today and give my longs a small holyday.

I know that we have had a pretty good time on our trip to Munich. I recall The X-bahn, Gorillas in der stau, Some sort of a frozen soda factory called JVC, and more of that craziness but when I saw this picture from Smuss in my mailbox I laughed my head off.

Awakenings Drumcode

An old Gass storage tank in the north of Amsterdam was the home of last weekends dance event Awakenings. 3500 Techno lovers from all over the Netherlands joined in for this massive party.
Names as Adam Bayer and Luck Lekebusch were performing on a spectacular stage with even more spectacular laser shows.
Smuss and marc ( two friends) decided on a last minute flare of insanity that we had to be there. So we went.. not knowing what to expect..(as party noobs). Dressed way to warm and to clean J.
We arrived at mid night. The party was already cracking. In this gigantic dome people where dancing on the music.. mm it gave me shivers. Immidiatly I caught on to the vibe and started to dance, only to realize after a blink of an eye ( and some pictures later that it wass 5 o clock and time for us to leave. With a big smile I am still walking around, this was a good party

Trafic jam

It snow again in The Netherlands. Pretty early in November if you ask me. you must imagine that some years it doesn’t snow at all. That’s why our country cant handle these weather conditions.
I always find it an amazing sight. The romantic feel of the cold you see out side through the window where you and your friends are enjoying a nice hot cup of coffee or chocolate milk. The feel you get when walking trough the snow. You must know what I mean… the crunchy snow under your feet.
Anyway the downside to it all that it was an apocalyptical chaos in our country. Roads where close plains weren’t flying, trains weren’t riding. People held up in train stations or in there cars. The snow kept falling and the army was handing out blankets warm drinks and gasoline for the stranded.

I had a traffic jam for over 3 hours..(that’s nothing compared to the people that are still in it 12 hours later). But you have that mutual feeling where people are in the same situation. Thank god for mobile phones so we could have some chat how bad it all was. Who’s gonna sit it out and who turned around, to sit in the traffic jam heading homewards. The phone companies reported that there was such an incensement of network use that they had problems processing it. Well I had trouble processing my first coffee when I arrived mere that 3 hours late on my work.

last week it was the first Solar festival in Roermond. In 4 diferent areas of music mainly House music 8000 People partied for 2 days.
The atmosphere was amazing, only happienes was allowed.

Next year i hope you will all come!!!

North Sea Jazz Festival '05

The last year, for The Hague. The Nort Sea Jazz Festival wont be in The Hague anymore.
70.000 visitors were there to witness the last ceremony of Jazz, Blues, Hiphop, Soul and other Urban music styles. Eventhough the festival gets a more commercial flair every year, the quallity of the music and artist remains high.

We went there on saturday, as rookies, Jazz newbs!!
Oke we are not the most educated Jazz know it alls in the world. I have to admit we went ther just to have a good time and listen to some wonderfull music.

In the first two hours we wanted to see some of the festival area.. ( if we have seen a quarter it is an overstatement!!) so big we could easely plan an extra day!!.......
We had plans to see Christina Branca, a wonder ful and fairytail like Fado singer.. beautiful voice.
Afer that we had to rush to see Jamie Cullem and withness him cover the WhiteStripes 7Nation Army song.. Amazing.. Solomon Burke Was next. he is the Godfather of Soul. nodoubt. There is no one out there that can compete with this guy.
We finished the gig with Relax.. a dutch band with a future..

5.30 I was home again!!

LSA archives ‘05

In this exhibition Czarone and Binsento look back on a year of Lomography.

Influenced by the worlds’ greatest they collaborated with Lomographers around the world and decided to show their work.

Czarone and Binsento feel that the photography scene in their city is need of a breath of fresh air. By showing people the possibilities of Lomography they want to revive photography as a young and sensational form of art.

The youth centre “De Azijnfabriek” (Acid Factory) in Roermond (The Netherlands) provides a platform for young artists to exhibit their work. With great enthusiasm they made this exhibition possible.

Czarone and Binsento will officially reveal the “LSA archives ’05” exhibition to the public on Sunday July 3rd at 15:00.

Fruhlingsfest

This was our second year at the stuttgarter fruhlingsfest. Devided over 3 weeks 1.5 million people visit this gigantic party. On an enourmous parking area a 4 giant tens are build containing over 2000 people each. They all stand on tables and drink liters of bear where they sing along with verry bad german music...AND SO DID WE!!!

An Amazing weekend in stuttgart. Cya all in October :)

Good things Bad things

Things that are further away always look smaller. Things that happen in the present or the near future are often considered more important than the ones on long term. you can see things much clearer than the things that are far away.

When you do something that feels good, but you know that it is bad for you in the future you must be persuaded to do it. For instant drinking alcohol; It feels good when you drink it, you mind get more open, you feel free. You know it is bad for you in the long term. When one is properly educated and exactly knows what the consequences are he would not drink. Because it is difficult to realize what can happen… saying things that are far away look smaller… one can often not realize the consequences. This also works the other way around; Doing something that is bad (in other words what does not feel right) even though you know it will be good for you in the future is very difficult to do. For instance going to the gym. When properly educated in the results for the future it get easier.

To live a good life is doing good for yourself. The one considered having a good life are the ones that do the things that feel good, and realize the consequences of there actions.

To become a good person is possible, but to stay a good person is almost impossible.

No more LOMO LCa. It was something you could see comming milles away but still its kinda shokking.. I own 2, one bought new and one second hand. Prizes will rize again..;( but hey what can you do..everybody owns a collecters item

wel I've learned that there are some good alternatives like Practica cx1 and cx2. I cant see the difference... but i really want that LCa2 when it comes out.

I need time

I need time. I got a vision but I just need time to realize it. Let me walk and I will Figure it out.
The problem is that it is just all going so fast. Where i wass unemployed 3 weeks ago I now have a full time job. And it is buzy... but yet so much fun to do...but the feeling of passing everyting on light-speed is what im most affraid of. My student live was going pretty fast and I enjoyed it, but its allready history. It is not comming back... I dont wat it to come back... but when i retire will i have the same feeling, will it be the same at the moment you die, where life is flashing before your eyes realizing that thats that and your time is up...you might think "that was fast".

Use what you have to use, amuse me and let me fantasise. I read in a book the following sentence (roughly translated) "I was waiting for him on the corner of the street wearing a white silk blouse it was a little see true so under it I wore a tight shirt..it was a hot day."

Unnecessary sentence if you would ask me. First, if the story would be non fiction its just a lie. I asked around and hardly anybody knows what they where wearing the day before yesterday. Second, it irrelevant what somebody was wearing. Fiction or non-fiction reading is like telling a story to a blind man. He will imagine how the person looks and is definitely not interested in the colour of a blouse.
Why do they fill books after books with useless information? Why are some writers obsessed with telling every detail of a story and leave noting to the imagination of the reader?
By this said I put down the third book this month!!

The journey of Miki and Akanee

Two Japanese girls, both 24 years old, do a grand tour through Europe. They visited Rome, Florence, Venice, Milan, London, Brussels, Roermond (city I live in) and Amsterdam. My dear friend Binsento met Akanee in Japan. They kept in contact knowing theyll meet again in Europe.
On Thursday they came to my home town. I didnt know they where here so I met them Friday. We went strait to Maastricht (south of the Netherlands), were me and Binsento played as tour guides. At night we took them out to a club. It wasnt crowded but fun we drunk a couple of beers and at 2 o clock we dropped them of at the hotel.. (long day).
The next day I had to work. But Binsento did a typical dutch windmill tourat night we ate at a Greek restaurant ( the never had Greek food) , and we ended up at my place where I invited some friends..
Sunday we dropped them of in Amsterdam. We showed the around a little and we went to a Spanish restaurant.. (in the wrong neighbourhood hmmm) The atmosphere was amazing we had so many laughs and the food was way to much..at 10 o clock we drove home.
Monday I decided to tour the girls around Amsterdam for the last time..I left my hous at 8:30 and was in Amsterdam at 11:00. We where also going to meet with Tibor (Gedachtestreep) to do some LOMO. We did a giant walk trough aAmsterdam and ended up in the Anna Frank Museum. They loved it.. after that it was time for dinner. In a typical Amsterdam bar in the middle of the Jordaan we had dinner. Amazing but we where all realizing that it will soon be over and we where probably never meet again. But hey we tried to enjoy these last hours. Later that evening in an other bar I made a route for them to go the next day. Including a canal cruise and some museums.
At 10 o clock it was finished. Watery eyes on both sides, a last picture, a last huge, one more phone call to Binsento, one more time looking at each other, one more time promising that we e-mail..mm like drowning little kittens is how Binsento would describe it. And it was. In the two hour train ride back home I realized that these days were to never forget. It felt as I was visiting my own county from Japan. Now its back to the normal life again and probably no more Dutch-English-Japanese conversations.

Or is this to easy, are the strings just a matter af safety, are they not keeping tings in place and are they just "in case of". Do people have strings to? maybe not as obvois, but i think they do. and what happens if you lose a sting does one collapse. maybe maybe not..perhaps they are just in case..
